This year we celebrate the 26th South West Business Excellence Awards (previously the South West Small Business Awards) which is proudly coordinated by BSW Connect. These Awards were first established in 1995 to celebrate and recognise the achievements and resilience of the South West business community, as well as to bring local businesses together. From small and humble beginnings, our Awards have grown to become one of the most prestigious events in the South West.

EVALUATION

The application process is designed to focus on key aspects of your business, providing a valuable opportunity to review and benchmark your performance against other successful enterprises.

FEEDBACK

All entrants receive a score card and feedback from the judges. This feedback will help you see your business in a new light and identify key areas of growth and strength.

CONNECTION

By entering the awards you/your business will establish a valuable network with the other applicants, which is mutually rewarding and beneficial for your business.

MARKETING

Receive local recognition for your success and raise your profile! All finalists receive increased local exposure. Winners are promoted throughout the region by BSW Connect networks and TV commercials on GWN7.

CASH PRIZE!

The South West Star Business of the Year will receive a $1,000 cash prize, presented by BSW Connect.

ONLINE INFORMATION SESSIONS

These free online information sessions will help you to identify the information that you require to have an award winning submission. You will be taken through each section of the application process and the type of information that the judges will be looking for. This is the perfect opportunity to ask any questions and gain a better understanding of how you can complete the application questions.

REGISTER YOUR INTENTION TO ENTER

All entrants are required to register their intention to enter the 2020 Awards program via the form below, as early as possible. This helps our coordination team keep in contact with you throughout the process and offer you as much support as we can to get you across the line.

A small $25.00 fee will be collected at the time of registration, this fee will later be deducted from the price of your Gala Night tickets order. This fee
is non-refundable shoud you not complete the application process or attend the Gala Night.

SUBMITTING YOUR FINAL APPLICATION

Please submit your final application in either a PDF or Word Document format to events@bswconnect.com.au before 5:00pm, April 24th 2020.

TV & RADIO ADVERTISING PACKAGES!

All Major Award Category winners receive a $1,000 voucher to put towards a TV advertising campaign with GWN7, plus a buy one/get one radio advertising voucher with Triple M.
The South West Star Business of the Year will receive a TV & radio advertising package valued at over $8,000!

MICRO BUSINESS
AWARD

(0 – 4 FTE EMPLOYEES)

For businesses employing less than 5 employees (fulltime equivalent) at the time of submission and have commercial premises (if not then choose Home Based Business Award). This award recognises a business that is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth.

SMALL BUSINESS
AWARD

(5 – 20 FTE EMPLOYEES)

For businesses that employ 5-20 employees (full-time equivalent) at the time of submission. This award recognises a business that is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth.

MEDIUM BUSINESS AWARD

(21 – 100 FTE EMPLOYEES)

For businesses that employ 21-100 employees (full-time equivalent) at the time of submission. This award recognises a business that is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth.

EMERGING BUSINESS AWARD

For businesses that have been trading for less than two years at the time of submission. This award recognises a business that is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth over two years or less.

HOME BASED
BUSINESS AWARD

For businesses where the primary office is located in the business owner’s home with the activities run at or from home. This award recognises a business that is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth.

EXCELLENCE IN
NOT-FOR-PROFIT
AWARD

For businesses that are registered as a not-for-profit business and/or charity. This award recognises a business that is able to demonstrate the specific strategies and processes implemented to achieve sustainable growth.
