The current global health crisis is sending shockwaves through our South West business community. It is now more important than ever that our local businesses are able to access high quality support to get through this time and be prepared for the bounce back.

The 2020 South West Business Excellence Awards Program has been adapted so that we can continue to recognise, celebrate and reward business excellence, as well as encourage creative modern business practices that will stimulate business growth well into the future.

The closing date for applications has been extended until 4pm, July 31st 2020. A team of mentors is currently being developed to guide business award applicants in completing their submissions. All entrants will have access to one-on-one support and online group sessions designed to inspire innovate thinking and assist business owners to seek opportunities for business adaption. Mentors and judges will help motivate entrants to use this downtime to upskill, review their business model and explore how they can establish new ways of working to pivot their business in these challenging times to enable continued service delivery where possible.

Application will now be judged in August. Finalists will be invited to take part in an online interview with the judging panel. The interviews will provide judges with an opportunity to more deeply understand each business before selecting winners, provide valuable feedback to finalists on their applications and offer advice on ways to further improve their business.

The Gala Presentation Night previously scheduled for June 2020 has been postponed until Saturday, March 27th 2021. This will be held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre and is already looking to be a night of great celebration as businesses in the region emerge stronger and more resilient than ever.

The comeback will be stronger than the setback.

Businesses are encouraged to visit https://bswconnect.com.au/awards/ to register via the online registration form their intention to enter the awards. The BSW Connect team will then contact entrants to arrange support in compiling an application. We understand that many businesses are currently facing considerable financial pressures, so have waived the $25.00 application fee as we believe it is imperative that all businesses can take the opportunity to complete an in-depth review of their business through the application process no matter their current circumstances.
